Adlington Book Week 2021
This year we enjoyed a virtual 'Book Week' at Adlington! We were delighted to welcome author Vashti Hardy to our homes and school via Zoom at the beginning of the week. She shared with us some top tips for writing our own stories and we thoroughly enjoyed a 'Fantasy Map-Making' workshop with her. Over the course of the week, we listened to lots of stories but we especially loved finding out about Grace's escapades in 'The Griffin Gate', our class novel. We took part in a number of virtual workshops with authors and illustrators and enjoyed a book treasure hunt. Below are photos of our entries for the 'Book in the Box' competition. I think you'll agree that they are amazing! The children worked very hard on them - congratulations everyone. Author Marie Basting judged the competition and chose the winner, Joshua, for his magnificent 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'!
