Sports Day 2018 - What an amazing day we had. Well done Herons, you were all sports stars!

Well done to the year 6 netball team, you were excellent and made the teachers work hard today, in the sun.

We had a visit from a local boxer today - Mark Jeffers. He taught the children how to skip and told the children what life is like as a boxer.

We had the Fire Service in this week talking about Road Safety. The children were given lots of valuable advice of how to stay safe when travelling to school, especially when they move onto their secondary school in September.

Herons getting ready for Sports Day!

A well - earned pizza for Herons class after their SATs. They all worked incredibly hard during SATs week. We are all incredibly proud of their attitude and determination this term. Well done Herons!

Super achievements from Annie and Corie who were awarded the most improved player ( Corie) and best girl (Annie) of the tournament, from their recent Tag Rugby tournament. They - and the rest of the team - performed amazingly, winning all their matches. Well done Adlington Primary!

Well done to Charles and Maisy, who were winners with their designs for the Royal Wedding of Harry and Meghan.

Herons and Kestrels had an excellent time at Tatton Park. It was a cold day but the children came away with lots of interesting information about the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings

STEM WEEK IN HERONS CLASS We've had a fantastic time during Science Week. We've enjoyed some exciting 'science' assemblies and done lots of science in class. We were very lucky to have a parent visitor in school carrying out some experiments using smarties and skittles! Have a look at the amazing science the children were learning about...

Modern Foreign Languages Week has been a huge success. Herons - during the week - visited France,Spain and Germany. They had the pleasure of the local High School language teachers come in and teach them how to speak French. The children have created fantastic artwork this week, using Monet as their inspiration. 

On Friday 2nd February, Herons and Kestrels visited Guru Nanak Gurdwara (Preston) to learn about Sikhism. The children had an excellent time and learnt lots about Sikhism. They had the chance to visit the prayer room where they were shown the scripts that are used today within Sikhism.

Remembrance Day

On Friday 10th November, Herons and Kestrels went to Adlington St Paul's Church to take part in a Remembrance Day Service with other local schools.

The children participated in a number of songs of remembrance and Herons performed a short poem to remember those that sacrificed their lives. 

They then visited the memorial to lay wreaths and take part in a 2 minute silence. 

All the children were incredibly well behaved and respectful throughout the morning and were a credit to themselves and the school.
