The children have had a super busy week during Spooky Week. We have been reading the stories Funnybones, Winnie the Witch and Room on the Broom. The children have made their own skeletons using cotton buds and chalk, spider webs by threading white wool onto black card and pumpkin lanterns by folding and making snips in orange paper. The children enjoyed working outside to create their own potions and role-played Winnie the Witch by waving their wands and saying "abracadabra!!" On Thursday the children followed the instructions to make salt dough to make their own spiders and collected 8 objects each to represent spider legs. During PE the children enjoyed taking part in Sticky Witches and broom races where we have been using ordinal numbers to record the races. The children loved exploring the feel of the inside of a pumpkin and enjoyed matching the pumpkin seeds to the numbers.
When talking to the children about Spooky Week the children said they enjoyed showing the classroom and their work to parents and relatives. Thank you for your support and we hope you enjoyed it!
