Sports Premium
At Adlington Primary School, we aim to engage, motivate and inspire children to develop a love of physical exercise and games. We recognise the benefits of a strong Physical Education curriculum and extra-curricular activity on raising children's aspirations and self-esteem. We want to develop children's experiences and enable them to achieve personal successes. We have created a developmentally appropriate curriculum focusing on learning through PE and sport. This will enable children to be physically literate leading to the development of a health, active lifestyle.
What is 'Sports premium' funding?
The government provides schools with Sports Premium funding each academic year to provide additional and sustainable improvements to PE and sport for the benefit of all pupils and to encourage the development of healthy and active life styles. Allocations are calculated using the number of pupils in years 1 to 6. Money goes directly to primary school head teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and P.E; each school will receive £16,000 plus an extra £10 per pupil. The money can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.

Swimming
Schools are required to publish on their website the % of their year six cohort who are able to demonstrate the ability to complete the following:
100% of year six pupils were able to confidently swim 25 meters.
We are thrilled to announce that our school has achieved the Platinum School Games Mark! This is the highest accolade awarded through the School Games program, recognising schools that demonstrate outstanding commitment to physical activity, competitive sports, and fostering a healthy, active lifestyle among students. Achieving platinum status reflects years of consistent excellence in promoting sport participation and inclusivity across the school community.
