We have started our new genre in English, ‘fantasy stories’. We have started this unit by reading gathering skills from “The Firework Maker’s Daughter”. 

Everyone in Kestrel class certainly recommends this story, it is brilliant!

Oliver Twist - Stories with Historical Settings

Our focus this term is Oliver Twist. The children have researched The Victorian Times in History which will help them when they write their own stories based around Oliver Twist. Everyone in Kestrels is really enjoying this classic novel.
